The Serene Glacier Lagoon

Fjallsarlon is situated in a breathtaking and raw landscape sculpted by moving glaciers and weather conditions. Vatnajokull glacier and Oræfajokull volcano tower over the lagoon. Icebergs breaking off the outlet glacier feed the lagoon and create a picturesque scenery.

The Zodiac Boat Tour

Meet your guide in the café just by the parking. On arrival you’ll be provided with a waterproof jacket and a life vest. After suiting up you head together to the boats which is just about 5-10 minute walk. Unlike the bigger boats, the zodiacs are able to bring you closer to the icebergs and the constantly transforming outlet glacier, as close as considered safe. You might even see or hear the glacier crack. Your local expert guides will give you information on the glaciers, geology and culture of the area making it a fun and informative ride. The tour on the lake takes about 45 minutes.
