Join the Adventure

You’ll meet your guide at the base camp at the Glacier Lagoon cafeteria just by the parking place. After checking in you head together to the jeep. Fasten your seat belts cause this is gonna be ride of a lifetime over rough slopes and glaciers. Once you get closer to the cave your guide will help you gear up in crampons and helmets and get ready to hike the last 5-10 minutes towards the cave. Inside the cave you’ll have enough time to explore and take photos of this natural wonder before heading back to base camp.

The Alternative Route

Weather in Iceland is unpredictable and even more so in the highlands and on glaciers. Glacier caves and crevasses are a glaciers piping system, so if it has been raining, the cave might still be full of water and not safe to enter. If this is the case, or if weather doesn’t permit, you’ll be taken on an alternative route to explore other interesting glacier hot spots such as beautiful crystal blue moulins and arches. There is always something beautiful to discover on the glacier and your guides always do their best to show you some of the wonders Vatnajökull glacier has to offer.
