When travelling in the western part of Iceland, Krauma is a must visit after a long day. Relax in the lush geothermal pools and spa powered by the fierce hot spring Deildartunguhver; the most powerful one in Europe.
Unwind in one of the five hot pools, one of which is shallow and ideal for sunbathing in on a sunny day. Dip your toes or if you’re feeling brave, hop into the ice cold pool to get your blood circulation going. The steam baths are generated by the drizzling of water from the hot spring under the wooden benches and the mild smell of essential oils fill the room. When you need a break from the water, the relaxing room is ideal to enjoy the panoramic view of the area by the crackling fireplace.
After the spa we highly recommend having a bite to eat at the restaurant. Icelandic cuisine at its best with fresh ingredients from the local farms.
If you didn’t bring your bathingsuit and a towel you can rent them here.
